In an article for the New Jersey department
of Transportation in early March, 2003, the road deterioration
facing the entire
nation was expressed as the Department talked about the New
Jersey state highways.
"...state highways are characterized
by suburban sprawl-strip shopping centers, fast food restaurants, “big
box” retail centers, and numbers of signs, driveways
and parking lots… The highways themselves-designed
for the needs of the middle of the 20th century are often
substandard,
deteriorated,
and ill suited to meet the needs of the 21st century. Nevertheless,
these roads carry huge amounts of traffic and represent
enormous economic investment.
Leading developers, planners and architects
around the country have demonstrated that the older suburban
strips can be redesigned, rebuilt, and revitalized…The
rebuilding of these suburban strip corridors will take
many years and an enormous amount of money – money
that is not available yet…” (http://www.state.nj.us/transportation/capital/tcp04)
High water tables, freezing and thawing and numerous other
problems have our roads and parking lots in dire need of repair.
The roads will be fixed, but not in the near future. That is
why pothole repair is on the upswing. Why cover several lanes
of the road, tie up traffic for miles and in general cause
chaos among commuters when there is a simpler way?
Patch Management offers the simpler way for all pavement repair
and resurfacing needs. Repair, lease/rental of equipment, sales
of equipment, contract or consultation, we have the expertise
